Partners for World Health (PWH) is a non-profit based in Portland, Maine that is committed to reducing medical waste while improving the quality of healthcare in underserved communities locally and internationally. By reclaiming medical supplies from hospitals, clinics, organizations, and individuals we are able to distribute them to those in need.
PWH’s roots are grounded in the personal efforts of Elizabeth McLellan, RN, MPH, who witnessed, first hand, the surplus of healthcare equipment and supplies working as a nurse supervisor at Maine Medical Center. While there are other non-profit organizations that send medical supplies to the developing world and organizations that provide medical care in the developing world, PWH is proud to be the only organization in the U.S. that does both.
Blue Wrap Runway
May 16, 2019
University of Southern Maine’s Abramson Center
Stop by the booth and get a sneak preview of a few of the gowns created especially for the Blue Wrap Runway event happening on May 16, 2019 at the University of Southern Maine’s Abromson Center. Blue Wrap Runway is the only charity event where dazzling fashions help to supply hospitals and medical clinics around the world. Leading designers take blue wrap—normally used to wrap sterilized medical supplies—and create one-of-a-kind fashions. In hospitals, blue wrap is used once, then thrown away. At Blue Wrap Runway, a festive night of fashions, cocktails, and music, it’s the star!
