I taught English in Buldan, a small village, which is at the epicenter of the Turkish textile trade. It was settled by farmers and weavers in the 14th century. At one point almost every home featured a loom, creating a community of weavers; a legacy that has been passed down from generation to generation.
I would stroll through the markets full of patterns and colors, purchasing a creation every week. They added color and comfort to my apartment, slowly making it into a place I could call ‘home’. When my parents came to visit, I loved sharing with them the colors and vibrancy of this new world, and it was then that I knew I wanted to bring them home and share them with you.
